Inactivity kills SEO efforts and sites

Inactivity is death for SEO and optimization efforts if you are dealing with the niche where you can’t get natural traffic or if you have to strong opponents that you cant take overtake. One month of inactivity will ruin backlinks you built over few months. Here is example. This entry had almost 17k backlinks month ago and maybe 130 visitors daily. I was inactive for less then a month. I stopped link building, I stopped adding useful articles.

What happened? Now I have only 12k backlinks, so basicly I lost 5k backlinks. My visitors dropped from 130 UV daily to hardly 60 daily. Other example is Sunitas entry. She had also 17k backlinks, she was probably inactive too last month and she dropped to 14k backlinks. I don’t know how her site is going with the traffic but I am guessing its no better then this one. We are only lucky that competition slept too, otherwise we would lose our places for sure.

Also it looks we are lucky that we noticed few raising forces so definitely there are ways to protect our positions.

Don’t be inactive.

Work on your sites. Add content, build links. If you cant manage it all then maybe you have to much sites :) .

  2. Hellas, you are right. Inactivity really kills the backlinks. If you keep on being inactive your links seems to get de-indexed.
