Before starting to promote yourself through various social media sites like Facebook or Twitter, you should know that lousy done Social Media Marketing (SMM) will just eat your investment without real return of investment. However in cunning hands Social Media will bring you unthinkable amount of traffic, and we all know that traffic on internet means money.
There are two ways how can you do successful SMM campaign.

Social media marketing will not only get you traffic and valid visitors but will in many cases improve your serp and seo rankings.
Because of backlinks. Main thing is that from link directories you can get enormous amount of backlinks. However some of them are not anymore good backlinks and will be disregarded. Hence to find good directories like for example are yahoo yellow pages and business directory, you should watch on some directory basic characteristics.
Main things to watch about your directory are:
- Every site accepted
- Google page rank
- Traffic
- Directory indexed
- Are links “dofollow”
If every site is accepted that means directory is probably considered by search engines as a spam link farm. If directory has PR 0 and it is old, then it can be penalized for selling links. If you put your link on such directory, then it is possible Google will penalize you too. Is there traffic on the directory (check alexa, compete and similar sites) if no, then probably your link in directory will not gave you any traffic at all. Is directory indexed? If no then it is maybe penalized. Are links in directory dofollow? If not then you don’t have any use in term of SEO from them.
Now if your directory list is compiled based on this five points, your list has value, and backlinks from those directories will have real SEO value.
Have you thought about automating the article submission process? Well, you can do so something called article submission script. There are many reasons for that but main is reason is that there is less competition, and that I am tired and without will for managing daily link buildings as I did in Sulumits Retsambew. Its no only me, but many who competed in Sulumits are much less active in Oes Tsetnoc. Curently I am holding second position on Official result page, but first guy deserve it. He have more backlinks from me.
This post as posts on my other blogs are just another series of support for my entry, and they don’t add real value, but what to say. Because of this contest I realized how many useless pages I have, and many of them will because of that get merged (to form even more useless page). Some of them will get closed, but some new will get started.

Inactivity is death for SEO and optimization efforts if you are dealing with the niche where you can’t get natural traffic or if you have to strong opponents that you cant take overtake. One month of inactivity will ruin backlinks you built over few months. Here is example. This entry had almost 17k backlinks month ago and maybe 130 visitors daily.
